PACKAGING IN GERMANY
Guaranteed less waste: The Packaging Act
The Packaging Act (VerpackG) aims to prevent or reduce the environmental impact of packaging waste. Packaging waste should primarily be avoided and, beyond that, recycled. In addition, the Packaging Act regulates the obligations to be observed when placing packaging on the market.
SWG fulfills and complies with the obligations arising from the Packaging Act and, in this context, has contractually obliged all suppliers to also comply with the corresponding requirements. Within the framework of this legislation, SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach GmbH has registered with the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (LUCID) foundation.
The registration number is: DE1629948975477
SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach GmbH has fulfilled the legal requirement "participation in a dual system" with a waste disposal service provider.
INFORMATION FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Packaging subject to system participation
Packaging subject to system participation requirements is sales or outer packaging filled with goods that typically ends up as waste with private end consumers after use.
Non-system-participating packaging
Non-system-participating packaging includes, among other things, transport packaging and sales and secondary packaging that typically do not end up as waste with private end consumers after use.
According to § 15 para. 1 sentence 5 of the German Packaging Act (VerpackG), we are legally obliged to inform you about the possible return of
"non-system-participating packaging" (commercial packaging):
1. Our company has concluded a service agreement with Interzero GmbH & Co. KG to fulfill its take-back obligations for so-called non-system-participating packaging (in particular transport and commercial packaging). According to this agreement, you also have the right to notify Interzero GmbH & Co. KG that they should collect your transport and commercial packaging on-site.
2. The purpose of taking back non-system-participating packaging is to contribute to facilitating the achievement of the recycling targets set by the EU.
(If our company has already made a different arrangement with you for the disposal of our non-system-participating packaging, this packaging is excluded from the aforementioned take-back option.)
Therefore, if you require our non-system-participating packaging delivered to you to be taken back, please contact us at the following contact details to arrange an appointment:

PACKAGING IN AUSTRIA
Relevant regulations for handling packaging in Austria are governed by the Packaging Ordinance 2014 (VVO), last amended in 2021 (BGBl. II 597/2021), and the Waste Management Act 2002 (AWG), amended in 2021 (BGBl. I Nr. 200/2021). The objective of these regulations is to prevent packaging waste as much as possible and to collect unavoidable packaging for reuse or recycling.
Depending on the classification of the packaging, those responsible are obligated to take back and report quantities, or to participate in a collection and recovery system.
Authorized representative in Austria
As of January 1, 2023, changes to the Austrian Waste Management Act and the Packaging Ordinance came into force (Packaging Ordinance Amendment 2021 §16a). The legal change allows companies based outside Austria to pre-license for Austrian companies, as well as to license deliveries of packaging to end consumers, only if an authorized representative based in Austria is appointed.
